As spring approaches, our veterans continue their missions of service and support.
If you have not found your mission, your passion, then think about IF:
You could be a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves?
You can apply for those benefits you have earned and deserve, and help others do the same?
You could testify with us to make sure all veterans get their benefits?
We are you, and you are us. We have all served far away from home, spending too many holidays in tanks, foxholes, tents, sonar seats and chow halls.
We know what it is like to eat dust from the vehicles in front of us, drink barely potable water, sleep under a leaking poncho or try to keep our footing on a constantly moving ship. Serving in the U.S. Armed Forces is an honor few take on and serving in combat is an even bigger sacrifice.
That is why William A. Carleton VFW Post 2513 has 168 members waiting to serve you, waiting to shake your hand, and welcome you home. If you want to join our post and have a new mission fill out the application.
It is your turn to have someone watching your “6.” Making sure your family is cared for and when you return home, we will help you make a transition back home.
Post 2513 has special projects including helping our local homeless veterans with referrals for compensation and healthcare needs. We clean and restore veteran’s gravestones through Operation Restore Honor. Women Veterans Network has our past post commander involved in helping our sisters navigate post-military life.
So, come join us at 7 p.m. on the first Wednesday of every month at 618 Lakeview Drive, Warrensburg, MO 64093.
Call Commander Doug Christie at 660-624-9597 if you have any questions or email him at Commander, Post 2513
